Unfortunately, the 2013 Great Hudson River Swim is being canceled due to the anticipated high winds and small craft advisory together with the rain and unseasonably cool temperature that will feel like it’s in the 40s—not good swimming, boating, or paddling weather. We will not be able to reschedule the event this season. Please feel free to join us any time between 9:25 and 11:00 at the start location to pick up your souvenir T-shirt and see fellow swimmers and volunteers. Swimmers will receive a 50% credit toward a 2013 or 2014 swim series event as per our cancellation policy.

Pool certification in a manner consistent with the sample template, which can be accessed on your user profile swimmer page, documenting the completion of a continuous pool swim of 1 mile (1650 yards/1500 meters) in 45 minutes or better since January 1, 2013. To provide the best indicator of open water ability and a solid basis for comparison with other swimmers’ pool times, the pool swim should ideally be done in a deep-water, competition-length pool.
