On June 18, 2011 NYC Swim will present the annual 28.5 Mile Manhattan Island Marathon Swim. This is our longest and premier event of the season, a full counter-clockwise circumnavigation of the island of Manhattan.
The 2011 field includes more than 40 solo swimmers and relay teams, the strongest and largest in 20 years, with swimmers from the U.S., Australia, England, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Portugal, and Ireland. The top two finishers will earn the right to return on September 28 for a match race and attempt to break the record around the island.
Follow the action in person or track select swimmers online.
