Park to Park Swim

Based on feedback from many of our swimmers who are looking to take their next step in open water swimming, we have developed a new 2-mile course for this event, starting at the new West 125th Street Pier. Timed for a tidal assist, the swim should take about 5 to 10 minutes more than past years' 1-mile course with more great views of both Manhattan and the Palisades. It's an excellent opportunity to preview a portion of the Little Red Lighthouse Swim course.

After the event, all racers, volunteers, and their friends are invited to join the NYC Swim staff at Coogan's Restaurant (Broadway at 169th Street) for an informal pay-as-you-go party.

The experience requirement for participating in the Park to Park Swim is as follows:

--- or ---
Any DOCUMENTED timed open water swim race of 3/4 mile or more since January 1, 2007 [How to upload your results]

Pool certification in a manner consistent with the sample template, which can be accessed on your user profile swimmer page, documenting the completion of a continuous 1-mile pool swim (1650 yards/1500 meters) in 45 minutes or better since January 1, 2009. Swim must take place in a traditional swimming pool; "Endless Pool" swims are not acceptable for qualification purposes. [How to upload pool certification]

All pool certifications and qualifying swim information must be received by NYC Swim at least 14 days prior to the date of the race (no later than May 31, 2009). Swimmers who enroll after May 31st must submit their qualification information to NYC Swim within 24 hours of enrollment. Participants' qualifications will not be accepted, reviewed or approved on race day.
